Welcome to my site, I’d like to start off by introducing myself and giving a little insite into the world of Chris Heathcote, Something that I know a little bit about about. I started taking photographs as a boy. After numerous 110mm cameras I bought my first 35mm camera, a Canon Sureshot, which went everywhere with me. When I got home I would spend hours locked in the bathroom, which I converted into a dark room. In 2005 I decided it was time to go digital and bought a Canon 350D along wigh a Sigma 70-300. I also had no need for a wet darkroom, so my PC became my new friend. All my processing is carried out using Lightroom and Photoshop.
My Other Job
Although I have a passion for landscape and wildlife photography, this is not my main career. During the week I work as a Regional Sales & Development Manager for a global insurance & warranty company, travelling around the Midlands, North East & East Anglia assisting the motor trade increase their profits through training and development. The nights away from home give me the opportunity to venture out into the countryside and towns trying to grab extra pictures for my portfolio.
I am lucky to live on the edge of the Peak District in a little town called Ilkeston which sits on the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire border and a lot of my pictures are taken within 1 hour of my home, some of these venues include Wollaton Hall, Twycross Zoo, Attenborough Nature Reserve, Chatsworth Estate and the numerous National Trust estates.
